Henry County (Ga.) star receiver Jamal Patterson had hoped to be in Clemson Saturday for Junior Day, but he wasn't able to make the trip.

"I had track meet so I couldn't make it," he said. "I didn't know about the meet because it wasn't on our schedule. I wanted to make it down real bad."

The talented athlete put on an impressive performance in the track meet on Saturday.

"Everything there went great. I was first in the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles," said Patterson.

The talented receiver will be in Tigertown in early March.

"I am going to go to Clemson on March 8. The coach said he is going to let me hang out with the players. It will be like a day at practice for me," he said.

Patterson, who caught 44 passes for 933 yards and 11 touchdowns during his junior season, says he doesn't plan an early decision, but the Tigers are in making a strong early impression.

"I like Clemson a lot. They are only a couple hours from my house," said Patterson. Top Stories
