6-4, 250 pound defensive lineman Abry Jones visited Clemson in late February for Junior Day.

"It was real good," he said. "It gave me a different view of Clemson. We got to really connect with the coaches. Everything went very well with my trip."

Several coaches worked hard to convince Jones he should be running down the hill for the Tigers.

"I got to meet with coach Bowden, coach Rumph and coach Napier. I got to connect with all of them," said Jones.

What was the highlight of the visit?

"It was when we got to watch a highlight film of Clemson. I had never seen one of Clemson before," replied Jones.

When asked about his current favorites, Jones responded, "My favorites are still the same. It is Georgia, Miami and Clemson."

The next visit may be to South Florida for the talented defender.

"I don't have any planned yet, but my mom wants me to find a way to get down to Miami. We will try our best," said Jones.

Which team is recruiting the Georgia standout the hardest?

"I would have to say Georgia and Miami," replied Jones.

Teammate Eric Fields is another player that the Tigers and Dawgs are after. Do the two Northside (Ga.) standouts plan to play together at the next leve.

"I really don't know. We would like to play together, but different schools need different things. We are both looking for a place that we can get early playing time," said Jones.

A decision may come by the end of summer.

"I really don't know when I will be ready. I would like to make it before the season. It will probably be before the end of summer," said Jones. Top Stories
