6-1, 240 pound linebacker prospect Kevin Minter traveled to Clemson on Saturday morning to see what the Tigers had to offer.

"It went well," he said. "I had a good time. It was cold out there. I came with my mom and my brother."

The visit gave the Georgia standout the opportunity to get to know the staff at Clemson.

"It was my first trip to Clemson. I got to meet all the coaches. They all seemed like real nice people. Coach West is my recruiter. He is a really nice guy," said Minter.

When asked about his current favorites, Minter responded, "LSU, USC and South Carolina are my favorites right now.

"The trip to Clemson helped their chances. They haven't offered yet, but if they did they would be right up there with the other three."

If the Tigers want to get the 4-star linebacker they will need to offer quickly as a decision could come over the next few months.

"It will probably be early summer. It might even be this spring," said Minter.

What will be important to the prize recruit when he selects his college destination?

"I am looking for great coaches. I am also looking for early playing time," replied Minter.

Minter finished his junior season with 137 tackles and six sacks playing as a middle linebacker. Top Stories
