RB Jamie Harper Profile
Five-star running back Jamie Harper, one of the top running backs to ever sign with Clemson, will be back in Death Valley in less than a month.
"I am going up for the spring game. I know Daniel [Andrews] will be coming with me, but I'm not sure who else," Harper told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.
Not surprisingly, Clemson assistant coach Dabo Swinney has been working hard to help the prize recruit prepare for his future as a Tiger.
"Coach Swinney has been sending me some information to help me prepare myself and get ahead of the game before I get there. He tells me to keep working hard and come in ready to play," said Harper.
Is there a certain weight that the staff would like to see Harper at when he arrives this summer?
"I am about 230 right now. Coach Swinney has told me they want me to come in at ten percent or less body fat so I am working to figure that out," replied Harper.
The talented athlete has also been running track this spring.
"I only ran in one meet so far because my hammy got tight. I have been staying off that. I haven't run track before so I needed to stretch differently for track. I have been trying to get myself back out there.
"I did pretty good in the meet I did run. I ran a 11 flat in the 100 and a 22 flat in the 200."
What is the five-star running back looking forward to the most about getting to Clemson this summer?
"I am heading up at the end of June. It will just be the adrenaline rush of getting ready to play at the next level," replied Harper.
Jamie also had this message for Tiger fans.
"I will be just as happy to see them as they will be when I step in front of them," said Harper.
