DB/WR Branden Smith Profile

4-star prospect Branden Smith traveled to Clemson for a visit this weekend and came away very impressed.

"It went good, real good," he told CUTigers.com afterwards. "I talked to the coaches. I got to talk with some of the players. We watched the game. They showed me around the facilities and the campus."

Coach Bowden made sure the Georgia standout understood how much the Tigers wanted him running down the hill.

"I talked to all of the coaches, but especially coach Bowden. Coach Bowden told me he really wants me at Clemson. He said I can be a big part of the team. He said I was the kind of special player they are wanting," said Smith.

What was the highlight of the visit to Tigertown?

"It would be talking with James Davis. He was my host. It went good. We sat down and talked about schools. He told me Clemson is a good school. He said it was up to me to make my own decision. He told me not to let anyone else make the decision for me. He said to just take it one day at a time," replied Smith.

When asked about his current favorites in the recruiting process, Smith responded, "Basically everyone is about the same right now. They will be until I take my official visits."

Will the Tigers get an official visit?

"Yes sir, Clemson will get one," replied Smith.

A decision likely won't come until after his senior season.

"It will be after I take my official visits. I'm not sure when I will take them. It may be after the season or I could take some during the season. I am not sure right now," said Smith.

"I am going to the Nike combine and the Scout combine next month. I don't have any other visits planned right now or anything else," said Smith.
