WR Jheranie Boyd Profile
6-3, 185 pound wide receiver prospect Jheranie Boyd took an unofficial visit to North Carolina State last weekend.
"I just went to the spring game at N.C. State on Saturday," he said. "It was fun. It was a good experience. My mom and step dad came with me. They enjoyed the trip also."
The future 4-star receiver will display his skills at a few combines in the next month.
"I am going to the Scout.com combine in Charlotte. I will also probably go to the Nike combine," said Boyd.
The summer camp plans are not final, but three stops are likely.
"Right now I am thinking I will probably go to Clemson, Illinois and Southern California," said Boyd.
When asked about his current favorites, Boyd responded, "I don't really have any. My mom has her favorites, but I'm still waiting for some of the visits. She likes Clemson and State."
Clemson assistant coach Billy Napier is pushing hard to put the Tigers at the top.
"I just talked to him after practice today. We talked a little about my grades. I am going to call him later tonight to talk some more," said Boyd.
Which teams are recruiting the prize recruit the hardest right now?
"Clemson, Illinois, Southern California and NC State. It seems like all of them are recruiting me hard right now," replied Boyd. "But I'm probably going to wait to make a decision. I will probably wait until signing day," added Boyd.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder totaled 47 receptions for 1,151 yards (24.5 YPC) and 11 touchdowns while earning first-team all-conference and all-area honors as a junior at Ashbrook High School in Gastonia, N.C.
