OT Xavier Nixon Profile

5-star offensive tackle Xavier Nixon will visit some of the top schools in the South next month.

"I haven't been on any visits the past few weeks," he told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "I am going to head South next month to visit some schools. I am going to LSU, Auburn, Florida and a couple of others. My head coach and mom will be coming with me so they will help decide where we will go."

Clemson assistant coach Chris Rumph is keeping in touch with the nation's No. 1 offensive tackle.

"Yeah I talked with coach Rumph last week actually," he said. "I think they are coming up sometime next week to see me."

Several schools have already visited Jack Britt high school.

"[North] Carolina came by this week. N.C. State, Michigan and Notre Dame also came by this week," said Nixon.

With an offer list too long to count, the prize recruit plans to narrow the field in the next month.

"I am going to narrow it down by the end of spring. I should have it down to 10," said Nixon.

What are the summer plans for the top lineman?

"I don't know if I will do any camps. I know I will take a lot of visits though. I will try to visit as many of my top 10 as I can," replied Nixon.

Don't expect a decision until much closer to signing day.

"I still plan to wait until after the season. I will have a hard time deciding where I really want to go. I am trying to find a place that feels like home," he added.
