Northeast TE will Visit Tigers, Dawgs

The Clemson Tigers are looking to sign another top tight end prospect next February and one target happens to be one of the top tight end prospects in the Northeast and he plans a summer visit to Tigertown.

TE Arthur Fontaine Profile

6-5, 240 pound tight end Arthur Fontaine continues to watch his impressive offer list grow.

"Georgia was the latest to offer," he told in a recent interview. "I also recently got verbal offers from Florida and Penn State. They are both coming by this week so everything should be official by the end of the week."

A recent visit to Penn State impressed the Dartmouth High standout.

"Yeah I went to Penn State for their spring game," he said. "I liked it a lot. They had 75,000 fans there. It was amazing. I stayed the weekend with my friend who was a student there."

Last weekend the top tight end visited the home team.

"This past weekend I went to Boston College. I have been there a bunch of times because it is so close. I got a chance to sit down and talk with coach Jags," said Fontaine.

When asked about his current favorites, Fontaine responded, "My top three would be Penn State, Maryland and Boston College."

A trip down South is planned for this summer and one of the stops will likely be Tigertown.

"I will go down South this summer and visit a few schools," he said. "I will probably visit Florida, Georgia and Clemson. My sister lives in Charlotte so I will probably go to Clemson and Georgia from there."

The key for the Tigers' chances will be getting the prize recruit on campus this summer.

"I will make a decision by the end of summer," said Fontaine.

What will it take for one of the southern teams to overtake his current favorites?

"They are not far behind. I have just visited those other three so that gives them the advantage right now. After the other visits that could change," replied Fontaine.

As a junior, Fontaine made 62 tackles, sacked the quarterback three times and forced two fumbles on defense. He also caught 10 passes for 156 yards and three touchdowns from his tight end position. Top Stories
