RB Tim Simon Profile

Clemson assistant coach Dabo Swinney stopped by Cordova High (Ala.) to check on star running back Tim Simon this week.

"The Clemson coaches are the only ones to come by this week. Coach Swinney came by the school," Simon told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "They haven't offered yet, but I think they are close."

Several SEC schools have already moved in with offers.

"I have five offers right now. I have offers from Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State and UAB," said Simon.

When asked if he has any current favorites, Simon responded, "No sir, I am open right now."

The Tigers will get a visit this summer.

"I am going to go up to Clemson sometime. It will probably be this summer. I think I may go up to Michigan also," said Simon.

The summer visits will be critical as a decision could come in the next few months.

"I think I will make my decision before my season starts," said Simon. "I just want to find where I feel at home after I take my visits. I am also looking for a good career path when I get older. I would like to be a coach one day."

Simon rushed for 1,566 yards on 176 carries and 33 touchdowns last season. For his efforts, he was honored as The Birmingham News 2007 Super All-Metro Team AISA 1A-6A Running Back and All-State 3A first team running back.
