Sian Cotton's football season just came to an end after a first-round playoff defeat, but things will still be busy as recruiting and basketball will make for an active winter. He is still sorting out who he is going to visit.
"I am in the process of setting up visits to Ohio State, Florida, and Pitt," he said. "All have offered. I was talking to Miami but that has fallen off. Clemson and Oklahoma have been talking to me, and Tennessee a little."
Many football players also play basketball, but not many have a basketball schedule like Sian's. He plays on the same team as the world's greatest high school basketball player -- LeBron James -- and in addition to having games televised nationally and on local pay-per-view, he'll be going to all sorts of different places for games, so it is understandable if he doesn't know quite when he'll be making his decision.
"I can't really say about committing," he said. "We are playing basketball all over the place and we start playing on November 30th."
Sian had a fine senior season although he has also been battling injuries.
"I had 13 1/2 sacks and 85 tackles and over 40 assists," he said. "I was hurt. I had a shoulder problem and a hamstring problem. I have not been able to lift until recently. I am at 283 right now and just getting back to lifting."
There has been talk in the past of Sian being looked at as an offensive lineman, but he put that talk to rest.
"I am not interested in any school that is looking at me as an offensive lineman," he said.
Sian already has a major in mind, and it is an ambitious one. "I want to major in international business right now, but I am not set on it," he said. "That is subject to change."
Several players in Ohio do not seem close to making a decision, and Sian seems to be one of those. Right now, things still seem to be open.
