CUTigers.com presents an updated list of the top 20 prospects in South Carolina for the class of 2009.

11 Roderick McDowell RB Sumter 5-10/175 CU
NOTES: McDowell, who rushed for almost 1,400 yards and 21 touchdowns last season for Sumter, has been committed to Clemson for the last two months and remains firm in his pledge. Running backs coach Andre Powell is his main recruiter to Clemson. Once signed, Clemson will have inked the state's top ranked running back in each of the last two years.

12 Kinsman Thomas WR Marlboro County 6-2/195
NOTES: Marlboro County's Kinsman Thomas jumps into our top 20 list after a strong showing at the Scout.com/Under-Armour Combine last weekend. Thomas has landed early scholarship offers from N.C. State, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Illinois and Buffalo. Dabo Swinney is the recruiter of record here. Caught 30 passes for 600 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior.

13 Ricco Sanders WR Duncan Byrnes 6-0/160
NOTES: Sanders has several big offers including both Clemson, Georgia, Florida and Florida State after catching 58 passes for over 900 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. The Tigers, led by his main recruiter Billy Napier, are the team to beat here.

14 Tariq Edwards SLB Marlboro County 6-4/225
NOTES: N.C. State, Maryland, South Carolina and Vanderbilt have all moved in with scholarship offers for this Marlboro County standout. As a junior, Edwards tallied 81 tackles, four sacks and two interceptions while also seeing some time at wide receiver. His father played at Virginia Tech- which will play a big factor here.

15 Kwame Geathers OT Carvers Bay 6-5/320
NOTES: South Carolina, Georgia and several other schools will battle it out for Geathers' services. Clemson will not be a factor here.

16 Chris Payne S Columbia 5-10/190 SC
NOTES: Committed to South Carolina. Payne averaged over seven yards per carry as a running back and totaled 720 yards. He also had 130 tackles on defense.

17 Josh McKie WR Mauldin 6-1/180 UNC
NOTES: Committed to UNC on Feb. 17 after drawing a scholarship offer from the Heels. He ended his junior season with 700 yards on the ground and 1,300 through the air as a quarterback. Clemson has not offered.

18 David Sims S Calhoun County 5-11/208
NOTES: As a dual-threat quarterback, Sims threw for over 1,400 yards last season and rushed for almost 900. He also intercepted five passes on defense. Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia Tech and N.C. State have already moved in with offers. Sims is being recruited to Clemson by defensive line coach Chris Rumph.

19 Taylor Sowell CB Dorman 6-0/185 UNC
NOTES: Committed to North Carolina on Feb. 15. No offer from Clemson. Ended his junior year with 40 tackles, six intereceptions and seven pass break-ups.

20 Justin Bright S Byrnes 6-1/185
NOTES: Florida State and Texas A&M have moved in with early scholarship offers. Despite missing four games last season, Bright still recorded 114 tackles, including six for a loss and four interceptions.
