Young said he would likely pick his college from South Carolina, Clemson, North Carolina and Tennessee. He also said nothing would happen and visits will not be set up until after the playoffs. Union faces Greenville High School tomorrow night.
In other news, Scott Kennedy had the chance to speak with Keenan defensive tackle Anthony McDaniel last night. McDaniel is a big time prospect that has slipped under the national radar to some extent. His head Coach Ernie Hughes says that McDaniel has a wealth of untapped potential.
"This is my first year here," said Coach Hughes, "and I've never timed him. But I've been told that he came in at 4.7 one time. He runs very well at 6-6 and 265 pounds, and that's something you can't coach. He plays defensive end for us, and I think whoever gets him is going to get a special player."
McDaniel has gotten several offers thus far and has set up one of his official visits. "Clemson, Middle Tennessee State, and South Carolina State have offered me scholarships. Clemson and Georgia are probably my 2 favorite teams. I also like Tennessee, I've set up one visit so far to MTSU on January 10th."
McDaniel has been elected to play in the Shrine Bowl on December 21st. He has the athletic ability to play a number of positions. "He could play defensive end, defensive tackle, offensive tackle, or even tight end on the next level," said Coach Hughes. "He's that good of an athlete."
We will continue to keep you updated on Eric Young and Anthony McDaniel throughout the recruiting process.
