Shelby (N.C.) standout and Clemson commitment Larry Raper will be back at the Tommy Bowden Football Camp for the second year in a row later this week.

"I will be down Thursday morning for camp. I will be there for two days," said Raper. "I am looking forward it and looking forward to just getting better. I want to win another Bowden Bowl trophy. Last year was fun," said Raper.

Now that track is over Raper has focused on preparing for another state championship run.

"I have been lifting weights and getting ready for the season," he said. "I have put on a couple of pounds. I am at about 168 right now.

"I have also been playing flag football with a friend of mine that goes to Carson Newman."

Clemson assistant coach Billy Napier has been in constant touch with is prize recruit.

"I talked to him a few days ago. I think it was Friday. We just talked about when I was coming down for camp," said Raper.

The speedster plans to do what he can to convince others to join him at Clemson.

"I will get on a couple of them down there," said Raper.

Raper, who committed to Clemson last September, could play either wide receiver or cornerback at Clemson.

Considered one of the fastest prospects in the south, Raper ran a 4.35 in the 40-yard dash last week at the North Carolina Shrine Bowl Combine.

He has been timed at under 4.3 seconds multiple times, including once at the Combine in Charlotte last year. Top Stories
