4-Star CB Enjoys Clemson

One of the top prospects for the class of 2009 from the Peach State visited Clemson this week. CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.

CB/WR Branden Smith Profile

Four-star standout Branden Smith spent the past couple of days in Clemson taking in one of Tommy Bowden's annual football camps.

"I came up on Sunday," Smith told CUTigers.com. "I had two of my coaches working the camp. I didn't participate in the camp. It was real hot out there."

How did the Washington High (Ga.) standout enjoy his visit to Clemson?

"It went real good," he said. "I was just watching and observing mainly. I got to see how the coaches work with the players. I was just trying to process everything."

The visit to Tigertown also allowed Branden to build some strong relationships with the Clemson staff and several players.

"It went great. I had the chance to build that connection with the coaches and the players. I had the chance to talk a lot with the coaches and some of the players," said Smith.

Several players spoke to the campers and had the opportunity to meet with the Georgia standout.

"I talked with a lot of the players. There were a number of players around. We just talked about Clemson and recruiting. It was good to connect with some of them," said Smith.

Next up for the prize recruit is another out of state visit.

"I am going to Auburn next week," said Smith.

Clemson, Georgia and Florida are believed to be Smith's top schools at the present moment.

Smith, the No. 10 cornerback in the country according to Scout.com, won the fastest man label in the city of Atlanta with a 10.62 100 meters as a junior.
