Signee Update: Brandon Thompson

Future Clemson defensive tackle Brandon Thompson has been working hard so he is ready to compete the first day he steps on the practice fields in August.

"I have been working hard," Thompson admitted to in a recent interview. "I have put on a couple of pounds. I am up to about 297.

"Right now I am heading up to Clemson on the 29th of June. I will be rooming with Antoine McClain, Dwayne Allen and Kenneth Page."

What is's No. 6 defensive tackle looking forward to the most about starting his Clemson career?

"To be honest, I am just looking forward to getting on the field," he said. "It has been a while since I touched a football. I hope all of this running and lifting has me where I need to be. I am trying to get in the best shape of my life."

The talented defender already knows the number he will wear when he runs down the hill the first time.

"I will be wearing No. 34," said Thompson.

The four-star prospect has also been keeping in touch with another four-star future Tiger. "I talk with Antoine [McClain] every now and then. We talk about what we will be bringing and how we can't wait to get to Clemson," said Thompson.

How does he feel about leaving home for the first time?

"It isn't really anything that bothers me. I mean it is just something I have got to do," replied Thompson.

"My mom is not excited about it. She knows I need to go, but she isn't excited about it." Top Stories
