Thomas Decision Coming Soon?

One of the prospects that made the biggest jump in the new rankings earlier this week told in a recent interview he is changing his commitment timing.

Dorman star lineman Brandon Thomas camped at the Tommy Bowden football camp last week, and like most of the major prospects there, he came away very impressed.

"The Clemson camp went pretty good," he told in a recent interview. "I learned a lot from coach Scott. I got to meet some of the other guys. I talked a good bit with Walt and also with Charon who were there."

Coach Scott got the opportunity to work a good bit with Brandon during the camp.

"He was a pretty good coach. I like the way he teaches all of the techniques. He taught me some things about footwork and how to use my hands correctly," said Thomas.

The timing for a possible verbal commitment has changed for the 4-star offensive lineman.

"I have changed my mind a little on the timing. I was going to make my decision about two games into the season. Instead I think I will make it this summer," said Thomas.

One thing that hasn't changed is his leader. As things stand right now, Clemson still remains the team to beat for many reasons.

"Well one thing is my mom," he said. "My mom really likes Clemson. It is close to home and they really have nice coaches. I really like all of the coaches at Clemson."

There are currently no visits planned for other schools for the prize recruit.

"I am not really planning any more visits. I am going to concentrate on some things with my team now," said Thomas.

Thomas, who was moved to four-star status in's updated rankings released earlier this week, ran an incredible 4.59 second 40-yard dash at the Combine in Charlotte last month. Top Stories
