DT Todd Chandler Profile

Offers are already coming quickly for Miami Northwestern defensive tackle Todd Chandler.

Chandler is already being thought of as a potential five-star prospect and one of the top defensive tackles in the Sunshine State.

"I have offers from the M [Miami], Florida, South Florida, Clemson, Florida International, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama," Chandler told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

When asked about his current favorites, Chandler responded, "Well my favorites right now would be Miami, Florida, Clemson and North Carolina. That will be my top four."

What does he like about each school?

Miami: "I really like them because they have a swag like no other school. They are the tops when it comes to attitude.

Florida: "I really like their intensity that I saw when I went to visit. They practice real intense. That is what their coaches want.

Clemson: "I haven't had a chance to visit them yet, but I want to. What turned me on to Clemson was Gaines Adams. I like how they send so many defensive linemen to the NFL."

orth Carolina: "I like them because of who they call baby No. 9. They get the young talent on the defensive line and let them play quickly."

Clemson linebackers coach David Blackwell is recruiting the future Scout 100 prospect for the Tigers.

"He is pretty good," Chandler said. "He and I had a nice long talk when he was recruiting Ben [Jones]. I told Ben that I would have committed also if he had gone to Clemson. He really messed me up."

What will be important to the top defender when he selects his college destination?

"Well I will look at the academics. I will look at the history of the team. I will look at their weight room and facilities," replied Chandler.

There are several schools that Chandler knows he wants to visit before making a decision.

"I want to go to Clemson, North Carolina, Southern California and LSU," he said. "My coach will want me to take five official visits. One of my officials will probably not be Miami since I go there so much.

"I am not going to commit early. I want to weigh my options. I am open right now."
