In his latest recruiting diary with CUTigers.com, five-star safety and current Clemson commitment Devonte Holloman discusses his recent move to South Carolina.

S Devonte Holloman Profile

Things have definitely been going good. I am getting along with the guys. The coaches have been taking me in and making me feel comfortable. Everyone has been real nice. I have got the important people on my side so far.

I have kind of struggled a little with the new defensive scheme. They run something similar to Clemson so it is good for me to learn. I will adjust to it fine.

It is good to work with Stephon [Gilmore] again. He is a hard working guy just like me. We always got along great. I am pushing him. He is pushing me. He is a cool guy.

I have been on Stephon hard too. I am trying to get him on track for Clemson. The other guys I have been talking with is Morgan Newton. He is a cool guy. I hope he ends up at Clemson.

The practices are about the same. They are not as intense in the weight room. Things in there are a little more laid back. We still get after it hard. We just have a little more fun.

The team looks pretty good. The defense looks real good. The defense always jumps out ahead of the offense early. They have some real talented players.

I haven't talked with coach Napier in a bit. He is getting married so I haven't called him. I did talk with coach Vic while he was on vacation. He was out working on the boat. He was having a good time.

I talked to J.K. the day after his birthday. He wasn't doing much. He had heard I had moved down to South Carolina. He was asking me if I was going to play with him in the Shrine Bowl now. I had already decided I would not play in the Shrine Bowl when I was in North Carolina.

I didn't want to miss too many classes since I want to graduate early. I am going to stick with that and not play in the Shrine Bowl. I will focus on the Under Armour All-American game.
