Clemson Commitment Working Hard

The Clemson coaching staff has been making sure Eric Fields, the No. 7 middle linebacker prospect in the nation according to, knows how important he is to the future at Clemson.

"They write me letters all the time," Fields told in a recent interview. "They tell me they can't wait to get me to Clemson. They tell me how big of an impact I will make."

Fields said he's working outside a good bit this summer, but that's been about it.

"I haven't been doing too much this summer," he said. "I did have a construction job for while. That is over for now."

Northside (Waner Robins, Ga.) should have a strong defense this fall according to Fields.

"Our defense will definitely be good this year. Our offense is a little shaky right now, but we are working on it," said the star defender. "We didn't have practice last week. We start back on Monday. I have been playing 7-on-7 with the team this summer. That is going good."

A few schools still keep in touch with the Georgia standout in case he changes his mind. "I still hear a little from Florida State and LSU," said Fields. "But I am still very firm with Clemson."

What did the Georgia native do over the holiday weekend?

"I didn't go any where. I just stayed here and visited with my family and a good time," replied Fields. Top Stories
