Howard Closer to a Decision?

Marcus Howard is one of the top linebacker prospects in the south, and with 4.4 speed in the forty yard dash, he is definitely one of the fastest. He had been contemplating a decision between Clemson and Georgia; did this weekend's big game against South Carolina do anything to help make up his mind?

"It was a real exciting game," said Howard. "I got to hang out with guys like Russell Hemby, Maurice Nelson, Eric Young, and Marion Dukes. It's just a real hard decision to make. This weekend really put some thoughts in my head and is making me have to think even harder about it. Clemson and Georgia are still about even. I'm going to the Georgia / Georgia Tech game this weekend, and I'm looking forward to that game."

Howard's Hanahan team was eliminated from the playoffs in the second round, but he had a spectacular season with 120+ tackles, 4 interceptions, 2 defensive touchdowns, 996 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns. Howard projects as a full qualifier and will be one of the best catches in the south this year.

Howard is the brother of current Tiger DE J.J. Howard. We will continue to keep you updated on Marcus through signing day, but as it stands now, the Tigers and Bulldogs will battle it out for his services.
