CB Branden Smith Profile

Are you ready for some football?

Four-star cornerback Branden Smith certainly is as he focuses on his senior season at Washington High (Atlanta, Ga.).

"Things are looking good right now," he told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "We are sticking together as a team. Everyone is working hard. We have our first game on August 30."

When asked if he is ready to name any favorites in recruiting, Smith responded, "I haven't narrowed things down yet. I will probably do that towards the middle of the season."

The Clemson staff is working hard to keep Branden thinking orange.

"I am hearing good things from the Clemson coaches. They really want me to come there. They can't wait to see me," said Smith.

Expect to see Smith spending a lot of Saturday's traveling around the Southeast this fall.

"I don't have any visits set yet. I am trying to focus on my season. I am going to try to see as many schools as I can this fall. I am not sure where I will go yet," said Smith.

Which teams are recruiting the two-way standout the hardest right now?

"Everybody is recruiting me hard right now. I am open to everyone still so they are all after me hard," he said.

"I am still planning to make my announcement at the Under Armour game," said Smith. "So it will be until then before I make a decision."

Scout.com currently ranks Smith as the No. 7 cornerback in the nation.

It is believed Georgia and Clemson are his top two schools with Georgia currently holding a slight lead for his services.
