One of the top prospects on Clemson's 2009 recruiting board, Ashbrook (N.C.) wide receiver Jheranie Boyd, made the most of a limited opportunity Monday night in his team's 28-14 homecoming loss to Crest.
On the third play of the game, Boyd, Scout.com's No. 9 receiver in the nation, caught a 75-yard touchdown pass on third-and-long doing most of the work himself after catching a short screen and taking it the distance.
"The screen came perfect and they all closed on me real quick but then I bounced off one tackle and broke it for a touchdown," he told CUTigers.com afterwards.
After that, as you would imagine, he saw constant double and triple teams all night long and could only manage two more receptions the entire game.
