Bowden: It went pretty good. These things ... you are usually down but we usually bounce back. Obviously they are disappointed [with the last game].
How was Willy today during practice as the No. 1 guy?
Bowden: Good. He's always been a good practice player. Both of them have been. Michael Wade has been the same way.
Did you get the sense that Cullen was handling things how you hoped he would?
Bowden: Well, we've had several here. When I first got here it was Brandon Streeter to Woody Dantzler. Then it went to Willie Simmons. Then it went from Willie to Charlie Whitehurst. All of those guys handled it well. I would assume he would as well. Like it? Happy about it? No. But I all of those guys handled it and I assume he will as well.
Was it Thursday's performance that caused you to make the change?
Bowden: Well we needed a spark right now. The other guys is a little more mobile and gives us more options.
Will we see different plays? Formations on Saturday?
Bowden: If I told ya, I'd have to kill you. That would just give them more time to prepare. Y'all have seen us play offense. You have different game plans. You don't do the same thing. Your practice format is the same. You've got individual. You've got team. The rotation, we've been working gets five [reps]. The second-team quarterback gets three. You just flip-flop the repetitions.
What was Cullen's reaction when you told him?
Bowden: He was disappointed. Like the other guys. Any quarterback ... Brandon Streeter, Woody Dantzler, Willie Simmons. They were all disappointed.
