6-3, 260 pound fullback Tyler Shatley helped lead East Burke (N.C.) to an impressive victory on Saturday night.
"We played Saturday night because of the rain," he told CUTigers.com. "We won 45-13. I didn't get to play a lot because we were up 28-0 in the first quarter. They took most of us out in the second quarter. We got back in a little in the third quarter.
"I had six carries for 47 yards. I didn't play much defense."
After a slow start East Burke has been coming on strong as of late.
"We are 6-3 on the season. We are getting better. Things are starting to come together. We are in good shape for the playoffs," said Shatley.
Clemson's new interim head coach has also impressed the East Burke standout.
"I really like coach Swinney. I haven't talked to him yet. I thought they did a good job against Georgia Tech for his first game coaching," said Shatley.
Is the two-way standout still firm with the Tigers?
"Yes sir, I am firm," said Shatley.
What happens if the Tigers bring in a new head coach for next year?
"I am still firm. I am going to Clemson. It doesn't matter who the coach is," replied Shatley.
Shatley also said he'll be in Death Valley for homecoming next month when the Tigers battle the Duke Blue Devils.
"I will be down for the next game. I will be there when they play Duke," he added.
Shatley is currently ranked as the No. 6 fullback in the nation according to Scout.com.
