OL Brandon Moore Profile
Once again in 2008, the Clemson Tigers are in contention to pull a top prospect from the state of Alabama.
This year, it's Montgomery native Brandon Moore.
"Coach Swinney said he will know in next four weeks if he is going to get the job," Moore told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "He told me he wanted me to come up and see them play. He talked about how it was kind of hard because some of the players are changing their commitments.
"He said it is not the end of the world and to be patient to see how things go the next few weeks."
Would it help the Tigers' chances if Swinney gets the permanent job?
"I really can't say until he actually gets the job," Moore responded. "It would help some since he was the coach that has always called me and recruited me. It would be kind of nice to know he is now the head coach."
The Alabama standout says the Tigers will remain in the mix regardless of who the next head coach is at Clemson.
"It is a win-win situation. It could help them. It depends on who the next coach is," said Moore.
Which teams are recruiting Brandon the hardest right now?
"I would say Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and Clemson," replied Moore.
Carver High put on an impressive performance this week limiting playing time for the prize recruit.
"We did good this week," he said. "We won 71-0. I only played about a quarter and a half. We are 9-0 now."
A trip to watch two SEC powers play was the last visit for Moore.
"I went to watch Alabama play against Ole Miss. It was nice. It was a good atmosphere. It was a good game between two good teams. That is always a good thing. I don't have any other visits planned right now," said Moore.
As far as other visits go, Moore has two other trips already planned, with a host of schools competing for the final three spots.
"I know I am going to visit Miami and Florida. I am not sure about the other three yet. I am considering Clemson, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State and Southern Miss," said Moore.
"I am going to wait and take my visits after the end of the season. Once I finish my visits I will make my decision," said Moore.
Moore is currently ranked as the No. 24 offensive tackle prospect in the country according to Scout.com.
