Raper Visits SC

Longtime Clemson commit Larry Raper opened his recruitment a few weeks ago and this weekend he visited South Carolina. How did he enjoy the visit to Williams-Brice? Which school will get the next visit? Where do the Tigers stand? CUTigers.com has the latest.

WR Larry Raper Profile

5-10, 170 pound wide receiver prospect Larry Raper traveled to Columbia with several friends on Saturday night.

"I went down with my girlfriend and some of my friends," he told CUTigers.com. "I just went down to watch the game. It was alright. It wasn't as loud as Clemson. Tennessee didn't look very good."

The South Carolina staff did their best to convince Larry that he should consider the Gamecoks.

"I talked with coach Spurrier and his son. They told me it would be good to have me down there. His son showed me around some," said Raper.

In his last game the speedster hurt his ankle, but was able to play enough this week to help lead Shelby to a big win.

"It still hurts a little bit," he said. "I played Friday though. I had five carries for 78 yards. We won 31-14."

Earlier this week the Shelby standout got some good news as he was named to the North Carolina Shrine Bowl roster.

"I was happy. It was a big honor," said Raper. The Shrine Bowl standout didn't get to watch the Tigers on Saturday, but he caught the highlights.

"I saw the highlights. It looks like they are improving. It was good to see them get back on the winning side," said Raper.

An in-state school will likely get the next visit.

"I am probably going to see North Carolina this weekend. I am not sure who they are playing," said Raper.

Where does stand with Clemson right now?

"They are still pretty high up there. I want to see how things workout," replied Raper.
