The honors continue to roll in for Clemson verbal commitment J.K. Jay.

"I got named the lineman of the year yesterday," he told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "I get to go to Columbia for the banquet. I'm looking forward to it."

Last week the Christ Church standout was also named to the annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

"It is a great honor. I am really humbled to be in it. I thank god for my blessings," said Jay.

Just before enrolling for college Jay will travel to Orlando to participate in the Under-Armour All American game.

"I am looking forward to it. I will still be rooming with Sam," said Jay.

J.K. plans to lead his team to a state championship before he heads off to college.

"The playoffs start tomorrow," he said. "We have home field advantage until the state championship."

An official visit to Clemson will occur for Jay, who will graduate in 17 days on November 24, in the next month.

"I am thinking about taking my official visit to Clemson for the South Carolina game along with Rod. I may push it out a week," said Jay.

Last weekend the prize recruit took a visit to North Carolina. What other trips to you have planned right now?

"I have a trip to Georgia planned for the 22nd. That is it for now," replied Jay.

Clemson assistant coach Brad Scott continues spoke with the Palmetto standout earlier this week.

"I talked to coach Scott a few days ago. He talks to be about life, not just football. He was just being encouraging," said Jay. "I told him I will be there for the Duke game next week. I won't miss a Clemson home game."
