Top DB Eyeing the Tigers

Keenan Little is a dynamite defensive back out of Crest High School in North Carolina. Little picked off a mind boggling 11 passes his junior season at cornerback, and he added another 6 interceptions this year. The senior DB names his top three schools in this report. Did Clemson make the cut?

Playing mostly as a cornerback in high school, Little picked off 11 passes in his junior season, including 5 in the 3rd round playoff game win over Ron Kirby High School. At 6-1 and 183 pounds with a 300+ bench and 500 squat, he seems more apt to play safety on the next level. Here's the absolute latest on this top safety prospect.

Thanks for taking the time to speak with us Keenan, how did things been go for you this season?
Little: Pretty good, I think I had 23 tackles and 6 interceptions on the year playing at cornerback. Cornerback was pretty much the only position I played this year. I didn't return kicks or play on offense, but I did block 3 punts.

I know you've been hearing from a lot of schools, which schools are recruiting you the hardest right now?
Little: I'd have to say Clemson, Wake Forest, and Georgia Tech. Those are my top three schools right now. Georgia Tech is probably my top school right now, but they haven't offered me yet.

What do you like the most about Georgia Tech?
Little: I like it because I like Atlanta and it's focused on engineering and technology.

Has Clemson been in touch with you recently?
Little: Yes sir, I hear from Clemson every week. I hear from Wake Forest a lot too and Georgia Tech probably every other week.

Which coach has been your primary contact?
Little: Coach O'Cain. He offered me a scholarship this spring and I hear from him pretty regularly.

Which schools will you making an official visit?
Little: I've got one already set up to Clemson for the weekend of January 10th through the 12th. I'd like to go down to Georgia Tech and up to Wake Forest, but nothing is set yet.

What's most important to you in choosing a school?
Little: Well, basically I just want to go somewhere I feel comfortable you know. I want to sit down the coaches and see how they treat the players and everything. I also want to be an engineer, so that's important. I'm thinking I want to be either a computer engineer or aerospace engineer. Location really isn't an issue, they are all pretty much close to home.

What position does Clemson like you at right now?
Little: They want me to play safety. Coach O'Cain said that he could see what he could do to get me over at cornerback, but they like me primarily as a safety.

CUTigers Notes:
Little appears to be locked into three schools at the present time with the Yellow Jackets holding a slight lead over Clemson. The coaching staff at Georgia Tech is reviewing his film right now, and we should know very soon whether or not an offer will be in the works. In addtion, Little said that the Yellow Jackets have given no indication one or way another as of Tuesday evening.

In terms of in-home visits, coaches from several schools- including Clemson, have been by Crest High School, but Little has yet to meet with any of them personally.

Little stands in at 6-1, weighs 183 pounds, and has his fastest 40-time right at 4.48 seconds. He also was selected to the Shrine Bowl, which will be played just under 2 weeks in Rock Hill. We will continue to keep you updated on this fine prospect, right up through signing day 2003! Top Stories
