Booker Named Co-Player of the Week

Duke's Kyle Singler and Clemson's Trevor Booker have named Co-ACC Players of the Week, while Virginia's Sylven Landesberg earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors.

Singler averaged 19.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in leading the fifth-ranked Blue Devils to wins over Presbyterian (80-49), Georgia Southern (97-54) and Rhode Island (82-79). On Sunday against Rhode Island, the Medford, Ore., sophomore led Duke back from a 12-point deficit scoring a season-high 21 points, including nine in the final 4:28 of the game.

Booker posted double-doubles in two of the three games at the Charleston Classic over the weekend, leading Clemson to the championship with wins over Hofstra (98-69), TCU (70-58) and Temple (76-72). The Whitmire, S.C., junior earned Tournament MVP honors after averaging 13.0 points, 13.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots per game.

In earning the league's initial rookie award of the season, Landesberg had 28 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in Virginia's 107-97 win over visiting VMI Sunday. The Flushing, N.Y., product made 10-of-17 from the floor (.588) and eight-of-11 from the free throw line (.727) and had three steals in 36 minutes of playing time. Landesberg's 28 points were the most points scored by a Virginia freshman in his first career game since the restoration of freshman eligibility in 1972-73. The previous high was 24 by Jeff Lamp against James Madison University on Nov. 25, 1977. Top Stories
