5-Star WR Talks Official Visits, Dabo

Five-star wide receiver Kendall Kelly was in Tuscaloosa Saturday as an unofficial visitor. Kelly talked about the Iron Bowl as well as Clemson's hiring of Dabo Swinney as the head coach.

"The game in Tuscaloosa was great," said Kendall Kelly. "Bama came out and dominated all four quarters. I was expecting Auburn to play them close since it was the Iron Bowl."

"Everything there was good. I had a good time. I was real impressed with [Glen] Coffee. He did real good."

"I talked to coach [Bobby] Williams for a little bit. He was telling us we just really need to come up there next year. They are going to be really good. They are really going to change things up. Coach Saban is coming to visit us next week after the Florida game."

"The thing that has stood out to me the most about Alabama this year is they finish games. Last year they weren't finishing games. Everyone is playing real hard and doing their role."

Clemson officially hired Dabo Swinney as their next head coach, and Kelly was aware of the news.

"When I first heard about it I was a little surprised," he said. "Coach Swinney told me he might get the job, but didn't know for sure. When I heard he would be named the head coach I was surprised.

"It's going to make an impact. He was my recruiting coach, and now he is the head coach. I like everything up at Clemson. I like how things are set up with the fans. I like the players in general."

Kelly wanted to clear the air about another recruiting update.

"I don't have any favorites right now," he explained. "Somehow it got out there that I was favoring an out-of-state school. I did a story with a Clemson reporter, and he was putting words in my mouth. It was not true at all."

"I have three visits now. I am going to LSU in December, Clemson in January, and I will visit Alabama sometime. The other schools I am considering for visits are Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Oregon and USC."

"Right now I would say Bama, LSU and Clemson are recruiting me the hardest. It's really a tie between those three schools. I am going to make my decision when I have the right feeling. It could be before or on signing day."
