#32 LB Marcus Howard (:57)
As impressive as Syvelle Newton was on offense Saturday, Marcus Howard was equally impressive on defense. The senior linebacker out of Hanahan was named as the South team's most valuable player on defense for the afternoon.
We'll have full statistics and additional analysis on Howard on Sunday, but for now, enjoy the following four clips by clicking on the link above.
1. Howard helps bring down a receiver in the flats.
2. Howard breaks down on the quarterback draw and insures a loss.
3. Howard brings down Byrnes WR Bradley Robinson for a short gain.
4. The senior linebacker destroys the quarterback at lightning speed.
Howard and Maurice Nelson spent an extensive amount of time together during the last week and at the game on Saturday. The two have seemingly developed a tight friendship on and off the field and both players are set to visit Clemson on January 10th. This obviously would bode well for the Tigers if either one of these players would go on recrod with an early verbal commitment.
Howard, who is the brother of current Tiger defensive end J.J. Howard, will likely decide between Clemson and Georgia. Nelson still favors Clemson but has also set visits to Maryland, Georgia, and South Carolina.
