McDowell: We got after it man. We went in the spider drill this morning. Everybody was just getting after it. That woke everybody up from the nights sleep. But with all that behind, after today I feel good.
It looked liked that spider drill really got everyone going.
McDowell: You are right about that man. I was following behind my big boy J.K. Jay, the dude from Dorman and the dood from Gafney. Those boys are solid.
How does it feel to play with J.K. Jay?
McDowell: It feels good man. J.K, man on one pay I sit back and watch and J.K. whipped out like three dudes at one time. I was just stunned. I was like thank you Jesus he is on my team. It feels good right now.
How hard is it to put in an offense in just four days?
McDowell: It is not that hard because our offense. All of the plays we got are just easy and the only thing we have to do is go out there and execute like we have been at our schools.
Do you think they will use you a good bit out of the backfield as well?
McDowell: I am hoping. We really don't know our game plan. We are just trying to get the basics down right now. After that when we start to get use to things is when they will start motioning people around and stuff like that.
What did it feel like to play in Death Valley last weekend?
McDowell: It felt good man. To see my home where I am going to be playing at and to score a couple of touchdowns. I said like dog, what if I break a 95 yard and the fans go wild man. It felt good when I scored two touchdowns.
What are your goals for this week?
McDowell: I just want to go out and play hard man. Even though everybody says go out there and beat North Carolina. That is one of our goals. Just go out there and play hard and let everyone know that Roderick McDowell is for real. I'm not just somebody that is undersized. I can run with the big boys.
Who are you rooming with this week?
McDowell: I am rooming with the quarterback from Summerville. He is a funny dude. I thought he would probably be uptight but no lets loose and loves to have fun.
How was the visit to the hospital on Sunday?
McDowell: It felt good man. To see kids like that. You think they don't have any hope, but to see those kids still smiling. That made me feel good that I can come and bless somebody. It is a blessing. For that hospital to do what they do is a blessing from God.
