Four-star offensive lineman J.K. Jay is done with high school and now set to enroll at Clemson in just a few weeks.
CUTigers caught up with the former Christ Church standout after a Shrine Bowl practice earlier this week:
Jay: It was good. It was fun competing against the best.
How was it going up against your future teammate Malliciah?
Jay: Me and Malliciah have fun. We busted heads a couple of times so it was good.
How did you like practice starting off with the spider drill?
Jay: I loved it. It was good. I haven't hit anybody in like a month so it was definitely a good thing to wake up with, but it was fun.
What was the hospital visit like for you on Sunday?
Jay: Oh man it was awesome. It kind of reminds me about what it is all about. The big schemes in life. God has really blessed me and you want to make the best of that.
How was it having Rod run behind you today?
Jay: It was cool. It was a little glimpse of what it will be like the next four years. It was fun.
What are your goals for this week?
Jay: I just want to get better and have fun with it and beat North Carolina.
Who are some of the players that stood out that you went against today?
Jay: Malliciah and Justin Anderson.
Are there any guys you are going to be recruiting this week like Sam Montgomery?
Jay: Yes sir, we are all working him.
What did you guys do last night?
Jay: Me and Malliciah had to get our helmets checked. After that I just went to bed. I was tired. Yesterday was a long day.
