The Year in Photos (PART I)

CLEMSON - CUTigers takes you down memory lane as we look back on the year that was for Clemson athletics and recruiting. First up is a look at the first half of 2008- from January through July.


JAN. 6 - Tyler Hansborough shoots a free throw during North Carolina's 90-88 overtime win over No. 19 Clemson at Littlejohn Coliseum. Wayne Ellington hit a three-pointer with just .4 seconds left in the extra session to give No. 1 Tar Heels the win.



JAN. 6 - The Rally Cats peform at Clemson - North Carolina game.



JAN. 6 - Five-star running back Jamie Harper cuts a flip in the end zone after scoring a touchdown in the Under-Armour All American game. Harper, the nation's No. 5 running back according to Scout.com, would sign with Clemson less than a month later.



JAN. 12 - Freshman guard Terrence Oglesby drills this deep three-pointer at Clemson easily beats Florida State, 97-85.



FEB. 1 - Cheraw wide receiver Jaron Brown announces he will sign with Clemson over South Carolina, surprising most in attendance at his press conference.



FEB. 6 - Dwayne Allen, the No. 8 tight end in the nation according to Scout.com, switched his commitment from Georgia to Clemson on National Signing Day.



FEB. 27 - A fired-up Demontez Stitt looks back to Clemson's bench in a 79-69 win over Miami.



FEB. 23 - Shortstop Stan Widmann runs the bases in Clemson's 12-5 win over Mercer to open the 2008 season.



MARCH 2 - Terrence Oglesby hit a 27-foot three-pointer from the right wing with 2.3 seconds left in overtime to give Clemson an improable come-from-behind win at Maryland. The Tigers trailed by 20 points in the second half before Oglesby's three gave Clemson the lead.



MARCH 8 - Strength and Conditioning coach Joey Batson stands in the wind on the first day of spring practice.



MARCH 8 - Tommy Bowden didn't know it at the time, but it would be his last spring as head coach of the Clemson Tigers.



MARCH 9 - Preseason ACC Player of the Year Cullen Harper throws a pass during warm-ups in spring practice.



MARCH 15 - Trevor Booker celebrates Clemson's 78-74 win over Duke in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament.



MARCH 16 - Raymond Sykes blocks Tyler Hansbrough's dunk attempt in the Championship game of the ACC Tournament. The Tigers would fall for the third time to North Carolina, 86-81.



MARCH 16 - Hansbrough gets sandwiched between a trio of Tigers in the same game.



MARCH 20 - James Davis returns to Clemson after opting for the NFL Draft only to change his mind at the last possible second.



MARCH 21 - Senior Cliff Hammonds defends Villanova guard Scottie Reynolds in the first round of the NCAA Tournament - Clemson's first appearance in the Big Dance in 10 years.



MARCH 21 - Senior James Mays just moments after realizing the No. 12 seed Wildcats were going to upset No. 5 seed Clemson.



MARCH 24 - A picture of the Tiger Paw taken the night of Clemson's 3-2 win over N.C. State.



APRIL 3 - Freshman QB Kyle Parker participated in spring practice as a quarterback for the Clemson football team. He also was named a first-team All-ACC performer for his work on the baseball team.



APRIL 12 - Freshman defensive end Da'Quan Bowers celebrates a sack in the annual Orange & White game.



MAY 2 - Parker should have been finishing his last semester of high school, instead he was pounding out home runs for Jack Leggett.



JUNE 12 - Four-star wide receiver Jheranie Boyd, a long time Clemson lean, is shown at camp here in mid-June. Boyd would later commit to North Carolina after the coaching change but is still being pursued by the Clemson coaching staff.



JUNE 12 - Five-star wide receiver Kendall Kelly, also at one of Clemson's summer camps.
