Tigers Land Another Four-Star DL

It's been expected for quite some time, and now this four-star defensive lineman is definitely committed to Clemson.

DL Leon Mackey Profile

Shortly after his official visit ended on Dec. 14, it was thought four-star defensive lineman Leon Mackey was committed to Clemson.

After all his Hargrave teammate, Onterio McCalebb even said as much.

However Mackey publicly denied any commitment took place and remained publicly uncommitted until earlier tonight when he gave his pledge to the Tigers in a meeting with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney.

"That is the school for me," Mackey told CUTigers.com. "I felt like Clemson was the best fit for me."

Mackey, who attended Hargrave Military Academy last year, chose the Tigers over offers from Virginia Tech, Arkansas and North Carolina, among others.

Mackey is the 11th public verbal commitment to the Tigers in the 2009 recruiting class. The Clemson coaching staff is expecting to sign at least 20 prospects.
