The news came down earlier this evening ... one of the top quarterbacks in the nation will be visiting Clemson this weekend, and there's nothing "unofficial" about it.

One of the nation's hottest prospects has made a decision on his final official visit of the recruiting process. spoke with five-star quarterback Tajh Boyd's father Tuesday evening to get the latest.

"We are going to Clemson this weekend. That will be an official visit," said Mr. Boyd.

Does his son plan to take any other visits?

"No, that will probably be it," replied Mr. Boyd.

After spending a lot of time away from work, the Boyd's will not be able to take Friday off for the visit.

"We are going to come up early, early Saturday morning. We want to get there as early as we can," said Mr. Boyd.

Tajh and his father are looking forward to seeing what the Tigers have to offer.

"We want to see what is going on down there. We had a good visit with the coaches last night. We hear it is real nice down there. We want to see the new facilities," said Mr. Boyd.

Boyd, the nation's No. 4 quarterback according to, captured MVP honors by completing 7-of-9 passes for a remarkable 187 yards and three touchdowns to help lead the East on to a 30-17 win in the U.S. Army All-American game this past weekend in San Antonio.

Ohio State and Oregon appear to be Clemson's main competition, at the present moment, for his services. Top Stories
