Scott, Tigers Offer 2010 WR

A visit from Clemson wide receivers coach Jeff Scott yields a scholarship offer for this four-star standout in the class of 2010.

WR Markeith Ambles Profile

6-3, 185 pound wide receiver prospect Markeith Ambles got some good news last week when he spoke with Clemson receiver coach Jeff Scott.

"I was checking my email one day last week," he told CUTigers in a recent interview. "I had an email from the receivers coach at Clemson. I called coach Scott. He told me they were going to offer. He came down to visit me on Thursday."

"Then when he did he brought a written offer with him."

It didn't take long to get the Georgia standout to visit Clemson.

"I actually went up to Clemson on Friday," he said. "I spent the weekend with a friend that goes there. I stayed with him. I got to see the campus. There are a lot of new things coming as far as facilities. I went to the basketball game. I also got to meet a couple of the players. I got to talk some with Jacoby [Ford]."

The Tigers are also recruiting his teammate Jamal Patterson. Have the two talked about playing together?

"He is committed to Stanford. I'm not going out there to play," said Ambles.

The offer list is too big to name for the Scout 100 2010 prospect.

"I have a lot of offers. I can't name them," said Ambles.

When asked if he has any favorites, Ambles responded, "I am open right now. Everybody is in the running. It is going to be a late decision."

Ambles caught 53 passes for 993 yards and 13 touchdowns during his junior season. Top Stories
