Quandon Christian? Done Deal

This former soft verbal commitment to Clemson told Dabo Swinney and Kevin Steele Wednesday night he is now firm with his pledge to the Tigers.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney visited with Lake View LB Quandon Christian on Wednesday to see if he could firm up his verbal commitment.

"They came by today. Coach Swinney and coach Steele came by the house tonight," said Christian told CUTigers.com. "They talked about the plan they have for me when I come up on July 1.

"They told me how I need to work hard and leave a good impression. They talked to me about academics. I am in good shape there."

New defensive coordinator Kevin Steele has already built a strong relationship with the Lake View standout.

"I met him on the official visit. He is a good guy. He is from Dillon. He lived just right down the road," said Christian.

Before the coaches left Quandon made his final decision on his college destination.

"It's official. I am a Tiger. I am 100 percent solid. It is over," said Christian.

N.C. State had made a late push and received an official visit earlier this month, but it wasn't enough to overtake his pledge to Clemson.

"I have been thinking about it, but it is sealed. It is over," said Christian. "It feels good to know I don't have to make a hard decision on signing day. I made it tonight. It is over."

How did the Clemson coaches react to the good news?

"They were happy," he added.
