Jeff Scott positioning Tigers for Fla DB

The Clemson Tigers have pulled a number of top prospects from the Jacksonville area in the past and this year looks to be no different.

Desmond Cooper Profile

Clemson recruiting coordinator Jeff Scott has the Tigers in good shape with one of the top defensive backs in Florida after a visit to Tigertown last weekend.

6-2, 190 pound safety Desmond Cooper traveled to Clemson for Junior Day last Saturday and came away very impressed.

"I loved it there at Clemson," Cooper told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "I came up with my teammate Jawan Jamison. We loved it there. I really liked the facilities. I like how they run down the hill and I really like the campus."

The Clemson staff spent a lot of time with the two Bolles School standouts during their visit.

"I got to talk with coach Jeff Scott, the defensive backs coach [Charlie Harbison] and Dabo. I really liked them. They really seemed enthused about getting me up there and about winning. I love coach Scott," said Cooper.

No other college visits are planned right now.

"I am going to the Nike combine this weekend. After that I don't have any plans,' said Cooper.

When asked about his current leaders, Cooper responded, "Right now it is Clemson and Florida. Clemson is in the lead."

Do the two Bolles prospects want to play together?

"I know me and Jawan [Jamison] want to play together. He said he loved it at Clemson and said he could see himself playing up there," replied Cooper.
