Gilliam Still in the Mix?

Ryan Gilliam, a 5-10, 175 pound two-way standout from Tallahassee's Lincoln High School told us today while practicing for the CaliFlorida Bowl that his two leaders are currently Oregon and Florida State. Where does Clemson stand?

Gilliam has been one of the standouts for the Florida squad all week and could see action at both receiver and cornerback. He has great speed and if he gets behind the Cali defense, no one will catch him.

"I loved my trip to Oregon and I'm seriously thinking about going there," Gilliam said. "I'll take my trips this month to Clemson, Florida, Tennessee and Florida State and will likely decide close to Signing Day."

Gilliam has been thought to be a huge FSU lean and with the Noles getting the last visit, they'll still be tough to beat but the Ducks definitely gave him something to think about.

Clemson still remains in the picture, namely due to the fact that his former teammate in the secondary, Buddy Williams, signed with the Tigers last year. Williams will host Gilliam during his official visit, which is now less than 9 days away.

"Having Buddy there is definitely a factor for me, we've been good friends for a long time and we've played football together for a while. I'm looking forward to getting up there and seeing what it's all about," said Gilliam.

We will continue to keep you updated on Ryan Gilliam, right up through signing day.
