Monday Dabo Audio

CLEMSON - Head coach Dabo Swinney discusses Monday's practice, Saturday's scrimmage and more.

THOUGHTS ON FILM OF SATURDAY'S SCRIMMAGE: "I thought the offense really had a good day [Saturday]. Saw a lot of improvement up front. Thomas Austin is a good player as we know. Antoine McClain is probably the MVP up front right now. Doing a great job. Great sign to see him maturing how he is. The backs had a good day. Quarterbacks did some good things and made some mistakes. Had a couple of assignment issues as we went through it.

"Defensively we were missing Da'Quan Bowers, Ricky Sapp, Kortnei Brown. It showed. We had some guys in the wrong places which created some miss-alignments and mental errors. All correctable stuff. Effort was good so I was pleased with that. Defense came out today and took it back over. Disappointed offensively today. We have to mature and be able to put together two days in a row. Probably the worst practice we've had offensively. Disappointed with the tempo and the effort out there today."

THOUGHTS ON THE HIRING OF DAN BROOKS: He's been the coach in waiting. Y'all didn't know that did you? He's been the coach in waiting for about a week now. His experience speaks for itself. The biggest thing I can say about Dan Brooks is he is a winner. He won at Florida. Won at North Carolina. Won big at Tennessee. Another coach on our staff that won a National Championship. Coached a bunch of first-rounders. A great great recruiter. He offers a wealth of knowledge to our defensive staff. I have had tremendous feedback from a lot of high school coaches so we are very excited to have him here at Clemson. Top Stories
