Henderson Ready for Visit

Mario Henderson is another one of the Tigers' top targets on the offensive line for the 2003 recruiting class. While the big offensive tackle has offers from several schools, including Clemson, Florida, and N.C. State, the question on everyone's mind is, who's his top choice headed into the big weekend in Tiger Town?

Mario Henderson is ready to come to Clemson, all he's waiting on now is the phone call.

"Yeah, I'm going up there next weekend and I'm looking forward to it," said Henderson. "All I'm doing right now is waiting on a phone call from Coach Scott to get everything set up. I'm not sure who's hosting me yet but I'll find out soon."

"He called my grandmother's house last weekend, but I wasn't there, so I imagine I'll be hearing something from him real soon," added the nation's 51st ranked offensive lineman.

Unfortunately, Henderson hasn't been able to schedule any official visits up to this point due to his commitment to the Lehigh basketball team.

"That will be my first visit next weekend. We've been playing in a basketball tournament, I was actually named the MVP too. I scored 26 points in a game so that's been going really well," said Henderson.

In terms of recruiting, three clear cut schools have emerged as his top targets.

"I'm basically down to three schools right now- Clemson, N.C. State, and Florida. Those will be the three I visit and I'll decided between those schools."

What about a favorite? Just a month ago the senior offensive tackle said that the Tigers were the team to beat. Is that still the case today?

"Yeah, Clemson's still my top team, I'm looking forward to getting up there," added Henderson. "They want me as a tackle, I might try to play basketball too, but you can lose a lot weight doing that, so that might be too much."

We will continue to keep you updated on Mario Henderson, right up through signing day.
