Newton has Great Clemson Visit

Quarterback Syvelle Newton just got back from an official visit to Clemson. The star signal caller from Bennettsville (S.C.) Malboro County High School enjoyed his visit to the Tigers. "It was a lot of fun," said Newton. "Derrick Hamilton was my host..."

"I had a chance to tour the campus and learn about their academic programs. The coaches seem great and the players are a lot of fun. They have always been honest with me and I appreciate that. They have a good chance to get me. Honestly, it will probably be them or South Carolina but you just never know."

Newton is scheduled to visit South Carolina (1-17) next weekend. Then he will visit UCLA (1-24) and Vandy (1-31). Newton plans on making his decision after his visit to Nashville.

The Marlboro County quarterback was voted the offensive MVP of the North-South All-Star game in Myrtle Beach this past December after an outstanding performance as a kick returner, wide receiver, and quarterback.

We will continue to keep you updated on Syvelle Newton, right up through signing day.
