Peach state TE closing in on decision

After making weekend trips to Clemson and Georgia, this vastly underrated tight end is getting close to making a decision.

TE Nermin Delic Profile

Northwest Whitfield DE/TE Nermin Delic has had a busy last week or so.

After picking up a new offer last week from East Carolina, he also went to Clemson's one day camp as well as Georgia's.

"Clemson told me that they pretty much were going to offer me, based off my performance at tight end," he said. "I did really well up there."

"I went to UGA camp and worked out at defensive end. I did very well in the 1-on-1's. I had to leave early due to a family emergency, but everything is okay now."

As far as East Carolina goes, Delic says he's learning more about the Pirates every day.

"I don't know a lot about the program, but I do know that they have had some success and are on the rise," he said. "They had a good team last year and are expecting another good group to come back this year."

Next up for Delic is a trip to College Park, Md. to check on another ACC program.

"I am going to Maryland on the 19th for their camp and if everything goes well up there, I feel like I could commit," he said. "I am really tight with their coaching staff and I like the tradition they have up there.

"Me and my Dad have already talked about it and I am pretty sure Maryland is the school for me."

Rusty's Final Word: Delic is going to be a steal for whoever gets him. He can play on the next level as a TE or DE so that allows any staff to be flexible in signing him. From talking to him, I look for this young man to part of the Maryland family before this weekend is over with. Clemson could make a late charge with a offer, but I still say Maryland is the clear leader at this point. Top Stories
