Tigers make the cut for Florida OT

This massive tackle from Florida doesn't know for sure if he'll be able to squeeze Clemson onto his travel itinerary later on this month. But don't be too concerned Tiger fans, the 6-6 260-pound mauler will make time to get to Clemson.

OT Dan Koenig Profile

"If I don't get there this month, I'll just take an official visit there in the fall," three-star prospect Dan Koenig told CUTigers.com.

Contact from the Tigers first came his way during spring practice when offensive line coach Brad Scott visited Cape Coral to check him out. Since then, Koenig has heard nothing but good things.

"Coach Scott says they really want me, my name gets mentioned in meeting rooms a lot and they want me to come down there and visit," he said. "I've heard they have nice facilities, a nice campus and I like coach Scott."

Later this month, he's planned trips to Auburn, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma State. The Scout.com three-star rated prospect is cirrently listed as the No.53 rated offensive tackle in the country.

With no particular order, Koenig includes Clemson, Miami and Tennessee along with the four schools he'll visit this month as his favorites. As far as deciding on a school, Koenig said the factors would come down to simply how nice the campus is and how welcomed he is.

A decision could come at the end of the summer.

What does he like about each program?

Clemson: I'm looking forward to seeing their facilities and the stadium. I want to see the campus too.

Nebraska: I haven't been there, but I love the big campus. I've looked at it on the Internet and it looks pretty nice. Everything is close together. They have a really good tradition and a good tradition of putting offensive lineman in the NFL.

Missouri: I haven't been there. It looks nice on the Internet. I like the offensive line coach a lot.

Auburn: I haven't been there, but I've heard the campus is nice and the facilities are nice. I just want to go up there and see it. I like the coaches a lot.

Oklahoma State: They have nice facilities and I like the offensive line coach a lot.

Tennessee: When I visited them I liked the campus a lot. The facilities were nice. The campus was nice and the stadium was huge. I like all of that.

Miami: I've been there. They're still in it.
