Clemson visit, top five now set

This 6-6, 260 pound left tackle out of Florida has been enjoying the free time he has had on his hands this summer but on July 25th he will start the journey of visiting all five of his finalist.

OT Dan Koenig Profile

"I have not been to any camps or things like that this summer," said Dan Koenig. "I have just been working out on my own. I am not going to do anything until late July. I will be taking visits to Auburn (25th), Ole Miss (26th), Clemson (28th), Nebraska, and Oklahoma State. I am going on one-day visits to each school."

Anybody else in the picture outside of these five schools?

"No sir, that's it. I have narrowed it down to those five."

Has each school offered?

"Everybody but Auburn."

What stands out about Auburn?

"They really like me. I just want to take a visit and see the campus. I have a feeling they are going to offer me pretty soon."

What are Ole Miss' positives?

"I like them a lot. They are going to be good the next couple of years."

And Clemson?

"I like their OL coach. I think they are on the upswing too, like Ole Miss. They have a new coach. I also heard their facilities are new and nice. They have a new West Endzone."

Oklahoma State is a school he is familiar with due to both of his older brothers playing there.

"David ('99-03) and Doug ('03-'07) both played there. I want to take a look up there too."

Does this give the Pokes an advantage?

"Not at all. I just want to see the campus' at each school, look at their athletic facilities and see how well I get along with their staffs. The school that best fits me will be the school that I pick."

Will Dan make a commitment after he gets back in from his tour?

"I have not made a decision yet on when I will make a commitment."
