Could another verbal commitment be coming in the direction of the Clemson coaching staff?

Don't rule it out when 6-foot-6 335-pound lineman Kalon Davis visits the Tigers for the second time this summer on Friday.

"I'm thinking about it. I'm not sure yet. But I'm thinking about it," he told CUTigers Monday afternoon.

Davis said he won't be alone while touring the Clemson campus, "I'll be taking R.J. Canty and some of my coaches."

Davis is currently ranked as the No. 26 guard in the nation and a three-star prospect according to will also visit Wake Forest on Thursday for a campus tour.

"The trips this week are real easy for me to make during the week," Davis said.

He ranks Clemson and Wake Forest in his top three with Alabama rounding out the short list though the Crimson Tide have yet to extend an offer.

After this week's visits, Davis will shut down the recruiting process for in anticipation of the start of practice on July 31 as the Cyclones begin their push for a third straight Upper State Championship.

"We are going to host our own jamboree this year and we're also going to go to a couple of scrimmages that we usually go to," he said. Top Stories
