OLB Victor Beasley Profile
Beasley, who is rated three stars and is the No. 37 outside linebacker prospect for 2010 by Scout.com, encouraged Brown to take a look at the Tigers.
"I told him about Clemson because it's a great school," Beasley told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "He wasn't even considering Clemson. When I told him about them he just fell in love with the place. I'm very happy for him."
With Brown, a three star safety out of Cherokee County HS (AL), ready to play for the Tigers, Beasley could very well decide to join his good friend by choosing orange and purple.
Does (Brown's) commitment help him get a little more interested in Clemson?
"Most definitely," Beasley said.
Brown has also told CUTigers last week he would immediately start recruiting Beasley on Clemson's behalf.
"It's going to make a difference," he said. "He's one of the first phone calls I made after making my decision. He knew how I felt about Clemson."
Having attended 7-on-7 camp at Clemson in June, Beasley has also seen Southern Mississippi and Alabama this summer. He'll be back in Clemson for a visit with family next Wednesday.
Clemson is appealing to him because likes the campus and facilities and loves the coaches because they "make Clemson what it is."
And right now, the Tigers sit No. 2 on his short list, directly behind Alabama, with Auburn, Duke and Louisville rounding out the top five.
Though his decision won't come until sometime this fall, Beasley already knows what he's looking for at the next level.
"Academics, coaching staff, those I'll feel comfortable with and enjoy playing for," he said.
As a junior, Beasley recorded 57 tackles, two fumble recoveries and one interception on defense, with 15 catches for just over 200 yards on offense.
