Is Brian Staley a Done Deal?

It wasn't until just recently that 5-star cornerback prospect Brian Staley publically announced that the Clemson Tigers were the team to beat for his services. Can we go ahead and say this former Aiken star is a done deal to Tiger Town?

Brian Staley is coming to Clemson.

Or is he?

Such is the mayhem that is recruiting these days. Just look at Florida offensive lineman Mario Henderson, who verbally committed to the Tigers earlier this week, only to pull that commitment less than 48 hours later.

It's hard to distinquish what is true and what is nothing but rumors, but CUTigers.com picked up on two pretty good sources today that seem to confirm 5-star cornerback Brian Staley will be wearing Clemson orange in the not too distant future.

Staley was actually at Aiken High School this earlier today when he informed the coaching staff there that he would, in fact, be coming to Clemson to play football next season.

It was the first time that he has spoken with the coaching staff at Aiken about a favorite school.

Clemson recruiting coordinator Rick Stockstill met with Staley extensively earlier in the morning and by all accounts, the results of that meeting were nothing but through the roof.

A formal announcement from Staley could come as early as Sunday evening, and he is currently in the process of telling the coaching staffs at South Carolina and Nebraska of his potential decision.

Staley has played the last two seasons at Georgia Military Academy. His freshman year, he recorded a mind-boggling 9 interceptions, with 6 of those being returned for touchdowns. He added another 7 picks this past year.
