Billie Says It's Clemson!

Dreher running back Tremaine Billie pledged his verbal commitment to the South Carolina Gamecocks last summer, but it appears he made his decision a little too early. CUTigers.com has confirmed that Billie has in fact committed to play football at Clemson University.

Running back Tremaine Billie has committed to play football for Clemson University, the announcement was just made at a press conference at Dreher High School in Columbia.

School officials confirmed this with CUTigers.com at 3:39 EST Tuesday afternoon.

When asked why he re-considered his orginal commitment to Carolina, Billie responded, "It made me think a little. I wanted to see if there was more out there than Carolina offered me. I want to be close to home, but I don't need to be that close to home."

The senior becomes the 2nd running back to verbally commit to the Tigers this year. He finished his senior campaign with over 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground and 2 receiving touchdowns.

Billie has world class speed, and was invited to play in the North-South All-Star game this past December in Myrtle Beach. He will likely get an early look at running back, but he also has the athletic ability to move over to free safety at the collegiate level.

Billie is done with his official visits and will not take a pending trip to visit the Maryland Terrapins next weekend. Brad Scott was his main recruiter for the Tigers.

We will have more on this breaking story throughout the day!
